As a part of the alumni tradition the MMSU Federated Alumni Association Incorporated in cooperation with the Alumni Relations celebrated the Alumni Day 2013 with a theme: Alumni Pumaypayapay Umaykayo nga Umay. This was in consonance with the 35th MMSU Foundation Anniversary celebration “Breaking Grounds, Making Strides towards Global Recognition”.

A prelude to the activity is the conduct of three-day Free Health Clinic in which the Alumni Relations in collaboration with Extension Directorate and CHS Extension Office in which 9 medical doctors who were alumni of  CAS, BS Biology (7), Science High School (1) and MMSULHS-Paoay (1) served for the said event. The office was in-charge of identifying and communicating/contacting with the medical doctors. Their service in this activity is in line with the “Career Service Program” of the Alumni Relations. There were 186 indigent individuals of Batac, MMSU employees and students, and other clients from other municipalities of Ilocos Norte. The services offered during the three-day health service were: breast examination, blood pressure monitoring, prostate screening examination and medical consultation.

The Medical Doctors (MMSU Alumni) who served during the three-day activity (January 7-9, 2013) were:

On January 11, 2013 (morning), the MMSU Federated Alumni Association Inc.  with the Alumni Relations conducted a Community Outreach – Sagut ti Alumni 2013 of which the beneficiary is Sitio Bul-lilising, Cangrunaan, City of Batac. This project was in coordination with Hon. Johann C. Nalupta as the Punong Barangay.  There were 82 beneficiaries who were provided each with 2 kilos of rice and grocery items. The federated officers and alumni relations staff who served were: SPM Bismark Angelo A. Quidang (President), Prof. Ciriaco T. Ragual (Vice President), Prof. Janet F. Rivera (Teasurer), Prof. Suerte Monina R. Dy (Auditor) SPM Florencio P. Laud (P.I.O), Dr. Teodorico S. Parbo (Peace Officer). Dr. Doreen D. Domingo (Chief, AR), Arceli C. Salvador (support staff) and Darlene Luz Nalundasan (support staff).

In the afternoon, the alumni of the university got together at Teatro Ilocandia for the program proper, Bingo Socials and Raffle Draw. The program proper was highlighted by the following:

Re-launching of the Alumni Song. The song was interpreted and performed by the NASUDI Chorale led and headed by Prof. Maybelline B. Sta. Maria. The lyrics of the Alumni Song were composed by Dr. Alegria T. Visaya, NLTC Class 1972, MMSU GS 1988, and the music by the late Mr. Romeo S. Sevilleja.

Presentation of the “Balay ti Alumni” in perspective was presented by Hon. Bismark Angelo A. Quidang, MMSUFAAI President. The “Balay ti Alumni” as presented by the federation president has initial seed money amounting to Php 300,000.00 to be placed in a separate account which will later be filled up by loving, generous and supportive alumni, sponsors and donors to fully realize the alumni dream “Balay ti Alumni”.

Presentation of cumulative accomplishments and plans for 2013 of the chapter associations by the federation secretary Prof. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang. The accomplishments and future plans of the different chapter associations served as inspiration and motivation to the alumni to serve their alma mater and to be supportive of its projects and programs.

The presence of the University President, Dr. Miriam E. Pascua to grace the occasion and deliver an inspirational message. Dr. Pascua thanked the alumni for being supportive to the programs of the university and challenged all others to continue extending their love and blessings to the university.

The Alumni Relations Chief, Dr. Doreen D. Domingo, stressed on the solicited cooperation of all alumni to register into the Alumni Directory under the alumni.mmsu.edu.ph site in her \"Rationale of the Program\" to strengthen the bonds of all alumni making the site as portal of communication between alumni and the university or alumni to alumni.. The site was re-structured by Mr. Henzon A. Vergara (BS Computer Science, Batch 2010) who at present is employed at ITC, MMSU.

The newly elected Chapter Alumni Officers of MMSULHS-Laoag and CASAT were inducted into office by the Honorable Alumni Regent.

Conduct of Bingo Socials cum Raffle Draw the proceeds of this activity will go to the Alumni Financial Assistance Program (AFAP). The program aims to financially support at least two poor and deserving new graduates from each chapter who will take their Board Exams.
