Alumni Career Service Program
The BS Biology Batch 2001 had its 1st Reunion cum Medical-Surgical Mission at the Municipality of Carasi on May 7, 2011 of which the MMSU Federated Alumni Association Inc.
The BS Biology Batch 2001 had its 1st Reunion cum Medical-Surgical Mission at the Municipality of Carasi on May 7, 2011 of which the MMSU Federated Alumni Association Inc., CAS Alumni Association, Biology Department and Alumni Relations Office were co-sponsors. In support to the activity, members of the BS Biology Batch 2001 provided free services and donated medicines and dental supplies to the attendees/patients/residents of the Municipality of Carasi.
The BS Bio Alumni who served in the mission composed of the following:
- Dr. Jerwin Johnted G. Asuncion ,(Municipal Health Officer, Carasi);
- Dr. Remelie M. Ballesteros, (MMMHC & MC);
- Dr. Khristine Q. Ofilas (MMMHC & MC);
- Ms.Leila M. Cabalar-Tumamao, (Company Nurse, APCI);
- Ms. Edeliza S.Quemquem, (Dental Assistant, Pasig City);
- Ms. Pilar Carolin Villa-Pascual, ( ScienceResearch Assistant, CASAT,MMSU);
- Mr. Efren V. De la Cruz, (Teacher, INNHS);
- Ms. Ruby Ginarose D. Hilario, (Instructor, BF Homes, Paranaque City);
- Mr. Eddie Jay A. Domingo, (Special Science Teacher, PSHS-IRC); and
- Ms. Joanth C. Ching, (Self-employed)
The event was also attended by the MMSUFAAInc President and Alumni Regent, Mr. Leonardo T. Pascua; the CAS Alumni Association President, Prof. Ciriaco Ragual; the CASAA Vice President, Atty. Erme S.Labayog; the ARO Chief, Dr. Doreen D. Domingo; the CAS Alumni Coordinator, Prof. Ma.Tereza A.Blanco; other support staff, Rey Ablog, Darlene Luz Nalundasan, Arceli Salvador, Reina Belle E. Saludares (Nurse, RN Heals of DOLE) and Billy Rei F.Saludares (Volunteer Nurse).
There were 103 registered attendees for medical consultation and 11 children for circumcision who were provided with free services, medicines and dental supplies. Other visitors and participants involved in the 1st Carasi Bike Race Challenge were also served for blood pressure (BP) assessment.
As part of the commitment of BS Biology Batch 2001 and in the name of service, the group were tapped again to extend their services under the Career Service Program of the Alumni Relations Office which was initially launched last May 7, 2011. The group had their 2nd Reunion cum “Operation Tuli” at Brgy. 32-A La Paz, Laoag City last May 12, 2012 of which the MMSUFAAI, CAS Alumni Association, Biology Department of CAS and Alumni Relations Office were again the co-sponsors.
This Career Service Program gives opportunity to our alumni having diverse professions and career paths to provide free services to communities that need assistance and support for extension and involvement. In support to the activity, the Metro La Paz Professionals Association provided free medicines while our graduates provided free medical and surgical services to the attendees/patients/residents of Brgy 32-A La Paz, Laoag City.
The alumni who served in the mission were the same group who were present during the 1st Medical Mission conducted at Carasi except Dr. Khristine Q. Ofilas and Ms. Edeliza S. Quemquem who were not able to attend the said activity. Other alumni who were involved in the event were : Dr. Miriam Donna T. Valdez (cl, 2001), Governor Roque Ablan Memorial Hospital,L.C; Dr. Menchie A. Patoc– Mariano (cl, 1998), Laoag City General Hospital; Dr. Janice de Guzman – Zapanta (cl, 2001) Governor Roque Ablan Memorial.
